A loving tribute or just plain creepy?

My wife likes to watch the tv show Family Plots.  On one of the shows they had a person after being cremated turned into a diamond.  That's right, they took the remains and a company called Lifegem took the cremated remains and turned them into a beautiful diamond.  My wife wanted to look into it for her deceased cat Pookie.  The diamonds are beautiful but I can't see spending $3000 and up for this.

I'd hate to have it done and then a couple generations go by and my great-grandson pawns me for a quick buck.
